** Homeopathy **

What is Homeopathy?

Homeopathy is a system of medicine that originated in Western Europe 200 years ago. The therapy is based on the hypothesis of "like cures like". The philosophy is that an illness can be cured by a substance… that produces the symtoms characteristic of that very illness…By delivering very small doses of that substance, Homeopaths aim to activate the body's inherent self healing abilities.

How might it help me?

Homeopaths often see patients with long-term, chronic problems, many of which have failed to respond to conventional medicine such as Eczema, Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, Asthma, Migraine, IBS, Arthritis and Depression. Although Homeopathic and conventional treatments can work very well alongside each other.                                                                                                                                                                                 Homeopathy can also be very useful in the treatment of minor ailments from cuts and bruises to coughs and colds. Two people who have a similar illness may be given a different remedy because their symptoms and case histories will differ. The symptoms may have come on relatively recently or they may have been present for a long time. However, if the condition is self-limiting, and certainly if it appears to be serious or life-threatening, Homeopaths would advise individuals to seek medical advice from a Doctor.

How does a typical session go?

The Homeopath gives plenty of time to the Client (up to an hour or even more) and notes down all of the symptoms and asks relevant questions before prescribing a remedy. Then, a Homeopathic medication is prescribed, called a Remedy. The Client reports the effects in follow up visits and the treatment is adjusted accordingly.

A first consultation may take up to an hour and a half, then the Homeopath will consider your case in detail before deciding on the appropriate remedy.

A follow up consultation of 30 minutes would normally be arranged four to six weeks later after having given the remedy time to work.

If you are unsure whether Homeopathy is for you we can provide an Introductory consultation of half an hour.
